5.11.2009 - This is the end
I turn the last page of that book. My story is ending now.
I hope you enjoyed riding with me. I am on board the vessel (color fantazy) that is going to lead me to Oslo, the place where this whole thing has started. the 11th of march 2009, I am back the 6th of November 2009. I've been ridding 13262 km and spending 831 hours on my brooks. I've crossed 22 country and ride from winter to winter. Took all the transportation possible: train, horse camel donkey plane, bus, car trucks and even walking, but the main was biking!

As Ozan told me: "You went knocking at china's door, nobody open, so you turned back...", I don't regret my choice a single second. I am just a bit bitter that I didn't cross that border, but the slow felling of getting back is something I can't put words on it... You have to live it...

I don't know if I have found the answers to all the question I was asking to myself, but I have seen a lot, I have discover a lot. And there is a lady, English teacher, in a small village in Turkmenistan, just before the desert that said to me: "You must be really bored in your cities full of light and people in the western world to come here, by bicycle, in the east, to see how we are leaving in our small places..." I still see this lady in my mind, and she was so true.

I send a big thanks to all the persons that has been helping me, that has meet me, or even anoyed me, to all the ones that has supported me by email or post on my blog, by sharing a tea or a piece of bread. To all the kids that were running with me, or playing with me, to all the people that has greeted me and all the ones that has hosted me, ride with me and laugh with me. All those day outside or inside, from bad to good weather.
But now I am happy to get home and see all the people I love. This journey make me understand that I live in a wonderful place with wonderful people.

The boat will be there at 10am on Friday the 6th of November... Spread the word!
See you tomorrow.
Jeff

3.11.2009 - Hard weather
Hello again.
Pictures of germany just updated!
The last 2 days has been a nigthmare regarding the ridding, hard core as one could say:80% humidity, plus wind, plus rain! I am freezing on my bike. I nearly gave up yesterday, I was really wondering why am I doing this, what is the point, what is the fun, but then the mood comes up again, and I just say to myself, you'll be so proud of yourself if you can make it!
The motivation while you are alone is really hard to keep up when the weather is so bad!
But 2 days from my goal, and then the boat, Norway and a long rest!!!
I am now couch surfing a lot, people are welcoming me in germany so well, I have to admit that this is very important for me now. Without this I would have stop I think, being alone, cold, and wt and on the evening alone, this is a bit hard... But I've learnt a lot from this last days!!!
Stay tuned, thursday or friday I take the boat!
Cheers
Jeff

Summer would have been nicer, but I gives a bit more chalange, and I still enjoy my trip so far... Poland has been hard, I've cross placese that are a bit remote and very country side so excpet biking there was no much to do. Also meeting people was very nice, I fell rested and redy for the last go! Just humide and cold!
Anyway for those who follow, I will tell my date off arrival 24hrs before, as I don't know if I an make it in Time to reach the boat...

29.10.2009 - So you want an update

Hello people that read me,

On request of some readers I am giving you an update. Even though nothing very exciting has happen. My days are quite resume to Biking, biking and biking. As people know, in te modern world we don't disturb the people. So basically I am alone, which is a massive change from before, where the people was a bit too much. I don't know if it exist a just middle, I don't think so, it is either full on or full off!!! Then it gives me time to think, although I don't have so much time as the night is coming really soon around here!

There is also something that doesn't want me to listen music as my new Mp3 player is already too old and doesn't work. I think I know why: Why on earth have I bough a Japanese Player made in China and sold in Poland by a German corporation????

Otherwise it is cold, and tomorrow I'll be close to Germany, and I have to admit that I am looking forward the end of my trip, the last bit is harder than expected, everyday is colder than the previous one. But as I said what doesn't kill make me stronger... I start to be strong mentally...

Except the fact that I have been traited so well by my cousin and her kids, there hasn't been much with the people. The look, they smile and that is it. Tenager has an habit in Poland to laugh at me, I still don't get why... Tomorrow I join the north sea again, last time was 7 month ago, a summer has past!

Cheers and take care of yourself

Jeff another week on the road!

24.10.2009 - Back in Poland
That is it, I am back on my own trace. Today I am going to be in Warsaw for some days. I am now in Lublin, wonderfull city, enjoying a piece of cake and a coffe. The feeling is very wiered, I've been ridding to central asia and back, each time people were asking me if I am going to ride back, I always said "NO!!! are you crazy, the way in is enough". But then things turn out that I am doing it. It is strange to see how things change from a border to an other. And poland is the real first capitalist country I enter since I left Turkey. It is funny to see how things evolute, I looked back to the pics, gather all what I saw during those last 7 month, and look how on the earth things are different from a border to another. The changes are slow when you bike, and at the bigining we had the excitement of the start. I am more peaceful now and my vision is a bit different, and also I am able to compare what exist in Europe to what is not in Central Asia. I still have 11 days of ridding since I reach the end of my trip, I may not ride Poland as I want to enjoy the cost of the North see in Germany, and also the ridding in Poland is not enjoyable, there is a awful trafic, and no bike lanes. Germany may be better and I am going to take detours up there. I found out also that at the end of my trip I will have ride the distance from Oslo to Hong Kong! Not bad! Stay tuned a little bit more, the story is not over, soon but not yet. Jeff
